The Amazing Race 17 : Episode5 - Hanging by a thread

I've just finished watching another episode of the amazing 'The Amazing Race 17'. This season, for me, is really good! I have to admit that I stopped watching this show a couple of seasons ago ( cuz I just couldn't stand a lot of the teams and I think they were not quite good casts ) but this season make up to me. I love the teams. I mean like Brook and Claire, Gary and Mallory, Katie and Rachel and especially 'team Jumba!!!' So far, it's so fun to watch and after every episode I want to watch more.

But tbh, I feel this episode is so unfair for some of the teams. The teams that did not so well last leg had a huge disadvantage this leg. At first I thought it's gonna be a non-elimination round because this disadvantage. If they had to catch a plane or go to other place that is far, it would close this huge gap of time between the teams and they would have a clean slate.

Well, let's get on what had happened this episode.

First, Nat and Kat arrived first last leg and this episode's first clue box which located up on such a beautiful mountain ( ugh..now I wanna go there ) and on the way up there Nat freaked out because she's afraid of height. There was a FAST FORWARD! and Nat-Kat chose to do it. In the confessional, Kat told us she is a vegetarian but the fast forward task is to eat a roasted sheep's head (yuck :/ ). Thumps up for Kat for doing this. They succeeded and moved on to the Pit Stop at Ankenes Marina.

While other teams still had to battle it out without Fast Forward, Vicki and Nick went for a 'taken FF'. The fact that they already knew people were gonna be there at FF already and they said it's not hard, they still chos to go for it and..well, stunned by the sign ' Fast Forward taken'. What I mean by 'stunned' is they didn't know what it meant by 'taken'. LOL so funny [the way the show portrayed them].

At the road block, a team member had to be hanging on a rope from a bridge. Kevin chose to do it and his father even joked about himself not doing it because he didn't have a gut! lol [I sooo like this team]

For Detour, the teams had to choose between Bike or Boat. Kevin/Michael, Brook/Claire, Chad/Steph and the volleyball girls chose to do Boat while Gary/Mallory, Jill/Thomas and Nick/Vicki chose to do Bike.

Brook and Claire collected their 7th kiss in the race. ;)

The teams finished at the Pit Stop like this...
1.    Nat & Kat
2.    Gary & Mallory
3.    Jill & Thomas
4.    Michael & Kevin
5.    Brook & Claire
6.    Nick & Vicki
7.    Chad & Stephanie
8.    Katie & Rachel - Eliminated

It's so sad to see Katie and Rachel out like this--it's so not fair! I had a hope for them until they chose to do Boat and especially saw them going in opposite directions with Chad/Steph on the boats, I knew they were last for sure.

I can't wait for the next episode!!!! *Spoiler alert* Russia bb Russia.

What to eat in Japan? : Tenya

Have you ever heard of 'tendon' (天丼)? It's a bowl of rice with 'tempura' (fried food) on top. It's one of my favorite food. And this restaurant is the best! Whenever I go to Japan, I have to go to this restaurant at least one or two times during the stay.

In the menu, there are multiple-choice for you to choose. Each one doesn't have much different, there are just different fried things like 1 shrimp with 1 squid or  2 shrimps with no squid something like that. My favorite?is 'Ebitendon' -- 3 shrimps, pumpkin, a piece of squid and bean. Other choices are such as chotendon and tendon which have less toping than Ebitendon. Prices...500 to 800 yen. Every bowl served with miso soup. :)

This restaurant is so easy to find because there are many branches. I always go to the one in Ameyoko market. From JR Ueno station, walk cross the main road, you'll see OlOl department store and a toy shop called Yamashiroya, between them you is the entrance of Ameyoko market. Walk in the allay like a metre, it's on your left side. There are also shops in Ginza, Harajuku and more. Bon apitite!

Survivor:Nicaragua Episode6 Recap

What a disappointing episode of Nicaragua..
Okay, it's just me[I guess] cuz overall I think this episode was fun but wth at Kelly B. and Yve going home! They are two of my favorites  this season ( I still have a bunch of people to root for though).
Fist of all, WHY Kelly B.?? Didn't the plan for LaFlor at first was to get rid of Marty? So then why when it came to Kelly and Marty they voted out Kelly? I'm confused, totally. Anyway I still understand why Yve had to go though...she's more of a threat than Danny.
Marty..hmm I hate him. I hate his face, I hate his attitude and he acts like a typical old dude douchebag who think he's controlling everything but actually not. I mean..get the hell off already, will ya! lol [Sorry about my language, I always forgot this is just a television show. lol]

Well, let's talk about what's going on this episode.

Dan wanted to quit but he didn't which is good because I hate to see people quit Survivor(idk why). Moving on! lol [I hate talking about contestants I don't care about -- except I hate them, sorry old people :P]
The two tribes attended a challenge for, (not) surprisingly, individual immunities. And both tribs had to go to tribal council :'(. Espada was first to compete and Holly won. Next was LaFlor and UGHH Jill one. I was like NOOOOOO at the time because I wanted Jill and Marty to get the hell out so bad. Kelly B. almost got it! Damn. Then Jill and Holly had to compete against each other for their tribe to get the feast during tribal council. Jill won -_-

Back at the camp. At LaFlor, Brenda took control and stated that she wanted to flush out Marty's idol ( so was it working!? No) by having 3 people vote for Marty and 3 others vote for Kelly B. Fabio!!! He's so [ I don't wanna use the word stupid but yahh] stupid! I likes Marty? Seriously? Come on! They went to tribal council and Brenda said something soooo unnecessary and kinda pushed my button a bit ( but I still like her ;P). At first when Marty decided not to use his idol I was like 'thank god, he's out' but then it was a tie. And I thought this second time they were gonna vote out Marty but NOOOO. I still don't get it until now can anybody tell me why...
People on the chopping block of Espada were Yve and Dan. Some people wanted Dan to go, some people wanted Yve but when it came to the tribal council, it's clear that Yve was going.

So another episode has ended what do you guys think of it? Bye for now, Pat.

Let's start with Ginza(銀座), Japan

I can say that I think I know this place the most if we talk about Japan because almost every time I went to Tokyo, I stayed at a hotel in Ginza. Why? It's so easy and convenient to travel in Tokyo from this place. With a subway that is a line we can easily go to many famous places for tourism and also JR train station, which is a kind of train that travels in Tokyo and many other cities ( the company of Shinkansen)--but let's get in detail of these trains later in another blog post. Ginza is located in the capital city, Tokyo. This place is like a street of brand products because there are showrooms such as Chanel, Mikimoto pearl, Bvlgari( do I spell it right?)-- something like that-- along the main street, yet, there are various kind of stuffs like Apple store, Sony building, a waffle shop with a long line of customer which I don't remember the name (lol), a cute little flower shop, coffee shops etc. There are two big department stores which are Mitsukoshi and Matsuya.
My favorite stores here, I'd say " Itoya", the biggest stationary store I've ever seen. You can easily see its logo, the big red paper clip.

We can walk to another street from the main street, pass the alley next to Chanel. You will see another department store "Automne" before you reach a big crossroad-- walk straight and there will be another department store which is OlOl (Marui City) and JR Yurakucho station. Near there, there are small shops that we can go have a fun exploration :P.

At night, this place is so beautiful with neon
lights from shops and building and DAMN..I'd just realized that I've never take a picture of the big crossroad which is the icon of Ginza with my good carera but ..whatever I still have this okay one though.>

For weekends afternoon, the main road of
Ginza will be closed (no cars baby!). That's right, people can now walk wherever they want and there will be tables and chairs at the middle of the road for people to chill. I've seen many Japanese bring their dogs here( ughh dogs are so cute lol).

What else....oh right! The white building in the photo above..I love it and it's located at the corner of a big crossroad. Buildings on the four corners have CLOCKs and they will ring at the same time at six pm, that's the time you have to be there to wait see and hear by yaself.

How to get there!? It's easy. From subway (get on the Ginza line or Marunouchi line), get off at Ginza station (G09/M16).

That's it for now I guess. Good night, Pat.
